The main building of the Tolstoy Museum and Estate: about half a million items, the largest Tolstoy collection in the world. The museum has been in this house since 1920.
The building. A monument of Moscow Empire style of the first quarter of the 19th century, by Afanasy Grigoriev (1782–1868).

Manuscripts in Tolstoy’s hand, first editions, portraits and photographs of the writer and his family. The display follows the books, from Childhood to Resurrection.
