One of the oldest science and technology museums in the world, founded in 1872 after the Polytechnic Exhibition. About 200,000 items on the history of technology.
The building. Built 1877–1907 in three stages; architects I. Monighetti, N. Shokhin, I. Mashkov.
Good to know. The reconstruction has run for more than ten years and the opening date has moved more than once.
The museum is currently closed to visitors.
What to see
After the opening: three galleries, Energy, Information and Matter. For now, the museum park with the exposed 19th-century foundation and the Open Collection at the Technopolis — several thousand objects on shelves, as in a store.

The museum is closed to visitors.
The historic building has been under reconstruction since 2013; opening is promised for 2026. The museum park around it is open. Part of the collection is shown at the Technopolis Moscow, Volgogradsky Prospekt 42. Checked 15 August 2026.
